Shareholders

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a private company. It is owned by two shareholders namely the Government of Botswana that has a 50 percent shareholding. The other 50 percent shareholder is Chlor Alkali Holdings (CAH) Group, a South African based company. The latter is also the management partner.

CAH brings a wealth of experience in the Salt business, as they own Walvis Bay Salt Refinery (WBSR) that is located in Walvis Bay, Namibia. The combined output of Salt at Botswana Ash and WBSR will enable the two companies remain the biggest players in the Salt market in the southern African region and beyond. CAH also owns and operates other companies in the chemicals sector.
